Hi! I’m Different

I am more than just an artist. I am a creative as well as an influencer who cares more about making a “difference” than being famous.

I am more than just an artist. I am a creative as well as an influencer who cares more about making a “difference” than being famous. My story begins in September of 2017 when I met an individual by the name of Chris inside a liquor store I was working at in Milwaukee. He asked for a can of “Steel Reserve” beer and I pointed him to that direction, I will never forget that beer. Coincidentally I saw him later that night at around 1 or 2 in the morning and we started talking. I found out Chris had no place to sleep and so, stupidly, I allowed him to stay with me in an apartment my parents were paying rent for so I could have a place to stay while I studied. They didn’t know that I had dropped out of college to pursue music - yet.

Chris was addicted to Crack Cocaine and he and I would get into serious trouble with the law and members of the community in Milwaukee on “Brady street”, a street known for its selection of bars and nighttime activities in the heart of Milwaukee. Chris showed me the dark parts of life in the United States that I was not accustomed to as I grew up in an upper middle class household in the middle east throughout my childhood. I was no stranger to drugs and alcohol but Chris took it to another level.

Although me and Chris would only spend 3 weeks together, he showed me a lot. He showed me some things that would be too graphic to explain here but the point I learned through him and my experience is this: whatever your situation, realize the blessings you have and understand that there are people in the world who would kill to be where you are now. If you have a bed and clean clothes, food and people who love you, you are damn rich.

My story with Chris ends with him being arrested. He started stealing Televisions located in the apartment complex’s lobby. The last time I saw him he was being put in handcuffs and sent to jail. That was the start of a series of downhill events that led to me experiencing something profoundly awful that not only made me the best version of myself possible, broke me down in every way imaginable and turned an ordinary boy into an extraordinary man.

It wasn’t long until I myself would become homeless. In 2018 I was down bad. Traveling the US by foot and sleeping outside, sometimes only making 6 dollars a day panhandling and spending it all on a high. Looking back on it now, it's a miracle I'm still alive as I was in some very dangerous situations and environments. I believe the thing that kept me going and out of harm's way was the idea that one day I would be a successful musician and God's favor, and that has led me to you, here, today.

After flying from Doha to Boston, My father helped me out of the situation I was in. I got cleaned up, moved to Qatar and things were looking better. I owed him big time. Making him proud has been something I've always wanted to do. I respect him and the hard work he puts in. My father has morals like no one else, I trust him completely. I was no longer homeless thanks to the love and kindness of my parents and I was safe. After a few years of uncertainty I was enrolled in Northwestern University in Qatar with the help of my mom and I am set to graduate soon.

In terms of Music I have just released a project called “Born Different” - a play on my name and my determination that I am a unique individual. I kept a psychedelic element to the instrumentals because of the effects that marijuana, LSD and mushrooms have had on me in my life. I plan on performing this mixtape as much as possible and sharing the message and the vibe of the project with the world.

I have also started an organization here in Qatar called “Do-Doha” that feeds workers in Qatar’s industrial labor sector using the sales of my music and merchandise. The goal is to distribute 10,000 meals to those in need.
